Fees & funding options

Funding options

Understanding how payment works and what your funding options are can be confusing. In some instances, fees for some of our services may be covered or subsidised by the NDIS, Medicare or private health insurance.

You also have the option to pay for your services if you are unable to access funding options.

We have outlined below the various funding options and processes. However, we appreciate that every situation is unique and encourage you to contact our friendly support team to answer any queries you may have and to confirm the fees and rebates that apply to your appointment.

NDIS

Solasta provides services to self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants.

Therapy services such as Psychology, Counselling and Speech Pathology may be funded by the NDIS if you or your child’s NDIS plan includes funding for ‘Improved Daily Living Skills’ under ‘Capacity Building Supports’. Any services provided also need to be aligned with the NDIS plan goals.

If you wish to use NDIS funding, you need to provide Solasta with either a copy of your current plan or alternatively the plan number, plan dates and plan goals.

Our NDIS services are charged at scheduled rates per the NDIS Price Guide. Our service fees are listed at the bottom of this webpage.

If your funding is self-managed, you will need to pay in full for the session. We will provide you with a receipt which you can use to claim reimbursement from the NDIS. If your funding is plan-managed, you will need to provide us with your Plan Manager details before your first appointment so that we can send invoices directly to the organisation for payment.

Medicare

For psychology

To access Medicare rebates for psychological therapy, you first need to make an appointment with your doctor to discuss your need for psychological therapy. During this appointment, your doctor will ask you a series of questions to determine if you meet the criteria for a Mental Health Treatment Plan. We understand that discussing your mental health can sometimes be challenging. To help you with this, you can find valuable tips on how to talk to your doctor about mental health on the Healthdirect website.

If your doctor determines that you are eligible for the plan, they can refer you to our services, enabling you to claim a Medicare rebate for your appointments. A Medicare rebate will reduce your out-of-pocket costs for up to 10 appointments a year.

In the Service Fees section below, we have listed the various Medicare rebates associated with appointments.

Before your first appointment, we kindly request that you provide us with a copy of your Mental Health Treatment Plan. You can send it to us via email at info@solasta.net.au

At Solasta, we offer Medicare claiming facilities, allowing us to process your rebate immediately after your appointment. Medicare will pay the rebates directly in the bank account that is linked with your Medicare account.

It’s important to note that for each appointment, you can only claim from either Medicare or a private health fund. Private health funds do not contribute towards the ‘gap’ between the Medicare rebate and the consultation fees.

Private health

You may be able to receive a rebate from your private health insurance provider for some services. Eligibility and rebate amounts vary from fund to fund, so please check with your provider directly about the details of your cover.

Our clinicians are registered with all major health insurers and claims can be made after your appointment using your health care fund card.

You may only claim from either Medicare or a private health insurance provider for each appointment. Private health insurance providers will not contribute towards the ‘gap’ between the Medicare rebate and the consultation fees.

Concession card holders

For some of our services, we offer a low-fee option for eligible concession card holders. Please talk to our friendly support team for more information on 1800 943 043.

Self-funding

If you are unable to access any of the funding options listed above, you can choose to pay the fees for the service yourself.

Payment is required at the time of your appointment via EFTPOS. We do not accept cash, cheques, AMEX or Diners.
